It depends. An e-book is exactly the same as the printed version. The only difference is that it is accessed through a database, and usually has searchable text. Some instructors encourage you to use e-books from our Ebsco, Salem, and Ebrary databases (all accessible through GALILEO). Others would like you to have the experience of using a real, printed book. If you are unsure, your best bet is to ask your instructor.  If you do use an e-book, remember to cite it according to the MLA or APA instructions for electronic books. If you are unsure if you are required to use MLA or APA, ask your instructor.
